Volleyball Team Camp - girls entering grades 3 - 6

Is your daughter excited about volleyball? Here is a great chance to get her started playing as a member of a team with minimal cost and travel commitment from parents. Develop new skills, make new friends, play some real matches and have fun. The Northfield Volleyball Team Camp makes teams of 8 -12 girls and holds practice two mornings a week. This team camp includes quality coaching from the high school coaching staff and players, eight practices, a uniform T-shirt and two tournament style play days with each team playing real matches. The best part is it’s all right here in Northfield. No traveling required.



Baby Sign Language

Learn to communicate with your young child through sign language. This interactive class will teach you the basics of sign language that can be used with children. You will learn over 50 signs and several songs that will introduce a new way of communicating with your baby or toddler. Using sign language with children impacts brain development and diminishes some of the frustration parents feel trying to understand what their children are telling them. Join us and find out how exciting teaching your child a second language can be.

Tennis - Kids on the Rise - entering grades 1 - 3

Love, 15, 30, 40, game! Learn the sport of tennis while having fun. A junior-sized racquet is recommended. No make-up sessions due to weather cancellations.

Private Guitar Lessons

Looking to learn a new instrument or build on your guitar skills? One-on-one guitar lessons are a sure way to have fun while learning this great instrument. In no time you will be hosting your own garage jam sessions or sing-a-longs at the campfire. Lessons are completely customizable for your knowledge and style. Spots are limited, so call (507) 664-3648 today to set up your lesson. Please note that students in sessions A and C will have priority for the late fall sessions.

Twig Furniture Making - Bent Willow Chair

Pursue the craft of willow bending and enjoy the beauty of the season in this two-day class. Participants will create a beautiful, fan backed bent willow chair designed to their own taste. Lunch is provided. Please bring a drill, utility knife, marker and tape measure. Drill bits will be provided as well as all fasteners and wood. Directions to the Red Wing Barn will be provided upon registration.



Whats New
Art for Human Rights

The Minnesota Human Rights Collaborative sponsors an annual Human Rights Poster Contest. Work with an art teacher and a commissioner from the Northfield Human Rights Commission to reflect on the annual contest theme and prepare an entry for this statewide contest. Winning entries are published in a calendar and the young artists are honored at the State Department of Human Rights annual Human Rights Day in St. Paul on Dec. 4.  For more information, visit: www.humanrights.state.mn.us/youth_08artcontest.html

Prairie Fire Children's Theatre - grades 3 - 8

Catch the fire! Enrollment is open to all district students. Spend a week memorizing lines, learning dances, wearing costumes and performing an original play. Please provide your own snack/dinner as needed. Performances are at 7 p.m. on Friday and 1 p.m. on Saturday.

Mixed Outdoor Bean Bag League

Call it Cornhole, Corn Toss or Bean Bag, just make sure you join this league. Find a playing partner soon as this league begins Oct. 22 and continues for six weeks plus a tournament.
